Hi Everyone!
I wanted to share an update on my teaching journey so far. It’s been an incredible experience, filled with both challenges and rewarding moments. Working at Howe Elementary School brings something new, and I’ve learned so much about what it takes to be an effective teacher.
One of the highlights has been getting to know the students and seeing their progress through the few weeks I’ve been there. It’s amazing to witness those “aha” moments when a concept finally clicks for them. I’ve also had the opportunity to try out different teaching methods and see firsthand what works best in the classroom, but it also shows what needs to be tweaked a bit.
Of course, there have been some tough days too. Balancing my priorities for school and working at Howe is difficult, but don’t get me wrong I love what I do. Seeing how happy those kids get when I arrive at the school just melts my heart. But each challenge that I’ve faced has taught me a valuable lesson and made me more resilient.
Overall, this experience has not only strengthened my passion for wanting to be a teacher but also has taught me that teaching is hard work. I appreciate teachers a lot more now that I know what it feels like to be in their shoes.
